Best Nature Prints

I started Best Nature Prints because I can’t stop buying nature art prints for my own home, and I know many others love them as well.  Classic nature prints fit in almost any decor, from highly formal and traditional to loose and cottagey.  I’ve even seen them look perfect in a clean, stark modernist room.

Currently, I have a set of six framed vintage rose prints by the most famous rose painter of all, Redouté (ray-DEW-tay), hanging over my couch.  I chose to mat them in a pale gray, leaving a large white space around the image to create a double mat effect.  The frames I selected are not very thick, but ornately carved and painted in a sort of antique bronze-silver color.  I hung them in two rows of three prints each.

Although I majored in engineering, I studied art and illustration at the college level, and was privileged to take a course in botanical illustration at the Dallas Arboretum from one of England’s most renowned botanical artist couples: Anne-Marie and Donn Evans.  During that class I learned that, although my drawing skills are good, my sense of color needs a lot of work!
